Sunday Club Ride

E-mail Print PDF

The Balmoral Sunday Club Ride will move to it's summer departure time of 6.00AM commencing 31 Oct 2010.

As always, the traditional Sunday club ride will endeavour to accommodate riders of all levels.  We will be leaving in 2 groups.

The quicker group will average 30 - 32 kph on the flatter sections of the course.  There are a couple of agreed sections of the ride that are quicker to test out the legs, and 3 short cuts just in case.

For those wanting a recovery ride with a more moderate pace, the 2nd group will average approximately 28kph, depending on rider’s needs.

Both rides cover approximately 75km with a stop at one of the club sponsors, Tanjas at Wellington Point, for morning coffee.

With each shortcut there is a designated regroup point where all riders will regroup to continue on the ride. This is intended as a club ride which will in the main stay together for the majority of the ride.

The Club prides itself on being friendly and supportive, especially to new members. At Balmoral no one is ever left behind on a ride. If a flat should occur- help is at hand.

Please note: If you are not a member of a cycling club, and are not a licenced rider, you join this ride at your own risk. Riding in a group requires certain skills, and a respect for other riders around you. If you are new to this type of cycling, then make yourself known to the ride leader, and you will be given a leaflet containing advice to help make you ride safer and more enjoyable.
