Board of Cycling Queensland has approved the recommendation of the

Technical Committee that the closing date for nominations for all

OPEN EVENTS will be fourteen (14) days prior to the event.

The Technical Committee has indicated that the change is necessary to give the

promoters of the open races sufficient time to prepare adequately for the conduct

of the event including but not limited to the preparation of the program of races,

ensuring sufficient suitably qualified officials and experienced volunteers are

available, adequate first aid is available considering the number of participants,

and all permits and administrative matters are able to be attended to in a timely

manner.

The Board has accepted that there will be a small phasing in period until this

arrangement is fully implemented but it is emphasized that this will only be a

limited time frame.
